Flash of light
Flash
of Light is a phenonema that seemed to be commonly reported around the
country in the first quarter of 2009. Some of these reports - like the
one illustrated here - might have a meteor explanation - but the larger
group of reports are described as though the entire sky lit up - with
some witnesses reporting other odd circumstances.

We know that arcing wires can cause a similar effect, but I think the cases are worth looking into.
